About the event

Join us for Uphill and Over the Top! Columbia’s African American Hometown Heroes, a compelling program presented by Celeste Leslie as part of the Columbia 300 Speaker Series at the National Watch & Clock Museum. This presentation highlights the bravery, resilience, and contributions of African American men from Columbia who served their country, often in the face of discrimination at home and abroad.

Through powerful storytelling and historical insight, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the personal and collective sacrifices made by these individuals, as well as their lasting impact on both local and national history. This program invites reflection, recognition, and appreciation for those whose stories deserve to be remembered and honored.
