12th Annual Luncheon

Our Annual Luncheon brings together educators, historians, community leaders, and supporters of public history to reflect on the stories that shape our shared past and future. This year’s event will feature distinguished historian and author Dr. Erica Armstrong Dunbar, whose groundbreaking work Never Caught: The Washingtons’ Relentless Pursuit of Their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge explores the extraordinary story of an enslaved woman who escaped from George and Martha Washington’s household and claimed her freedom.

Through compelling storytelling and meticulous research, Dr. Dunbar illuminates the contradictions of America’s founding era and the courage of those who resisted bondage.
