About the event

Open Streets Lancaster is a free, family-friendly event that temporarily closes sections of North and South Water Street to vehicle traffic, turning the roadway into a safe, open space for the community to walk, bike, skate, and explore. Hosted by Lancaster Rec in partnership with the City of Lancaster and Lancaster Bikes, this annual event is part of a larger movement to promote active lifestyles, reimagine public space, and strengthen community connections.

Throughout the event, attendees can enjoy live music, local artists, food trucks, and a wide variety of activities focused on physical and mental well-being, creativity, and community engagement. With participation from local nonprofits, small businesses, and community organizations, Open Streets creates a dynamic, welcoming environment for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect and discover something new.
